Candles

Candles and related scented articles fall under Category 12 of the IFRA safety standards. Black Cherry Merlot fragrance oil has no restrictions on use for Category 12. Feel free to use as much or as little as your nose pleases.

Soaps and Bath Fragrances

Black Cherry Merlotse aromatic oil is well-suited for bath products. The maximum dilution for soaps, shampoos, or any other IFRA Category 9 product is 6.50%. This category also covers laundry pretreatments and cleaning products.

The maximum dilution for making an aerosol room spray or any other item that will be propelled using a pump is 21.00%.

Handmade perfumery

Fragrance oils are wonderful additions to handmade perfumes. For colognes designed to be applied to freshly shaved skin, a maximum dilution of 2.20% is appropriate. This applies to both Eau de Toilettes and fine fragrances. For hydroalcoholic perfumery products designed for use on unshaven skin, a more liberal dilution of up to 9.61% is acceptable.

If you choose to use Black Cherry Merlot aromatic oil in deodorant or antiperspirant products, the maximum dilution is 7.62%. This applies to roll-on or body spray products.

Body care

According to IFRA regulations, the maximum safe dilution for Black Cherry Merlot aromatic oil is set at 2.46% if used for body creams, foot care products, insect repellents or talc powder.

For specialized hand creams or fragranced hand sanitizers, the maximum dilution would be 2.46%.

The maximum dilution for this fragrance oil depends on the products you are planning to make.

It's important to note that the maximum dilutions are solely for safety reasons, based on the oil's chemical composition. In some cases, these are quite high because all the components are relatively benign. These amounts aren't necessarily recommendations for how much to use in your recipe. They can make the product smell too strong or prohibitively expensive to produce. As long as you stay below the recommended limits, you can be as generous or thrifty as you like. Use more, use less. We'll leave the creative stuff to you.

Safety precaution

Black Cherry Merlot aromatic oil is not approved under IFRA safety guidelines for any type of lip or mouth-related product according to its categories 1 and 6.

We recommend testing a small amount before scaling up to larger formulations. As with all Vinevida products, these fragrance oils are for external use only and should not be ingested under any circumstances.
