It works beautifully for candle making, soap making, and personal care applications such as lotion, shampoo, and body wash. This list is not exhaustive, and we encourage you to play, create, and invent a million other ways to use it. We recommend trying a small amount before scaling up to larger formulations. These fragrance oils are intended for external use only and should not be ingested under any circumstances.

Instructions for use

Candles

Candles and related scented articles fall under Category 12 of the IFRA safety standards. Iced Vanilla Woods fragrance oil has no usage restrictions for Category 12. Feel free to use as much or as little as you like.

Soaps and Bath Fragrances

Iced Vanilla Woods fragrance oil is well-suited for bath products. The maximum dilution for soaps, shampoos, or any other IFRA Category 9 product is 11.85%. This category also covers laundry pretreatments and cleaning products.

The maximum dilution for making a room spray or any other item that is propelled for room fragrance using a pump is 32.59%.

Handmade perfumery

Fragrance oils are wonderful additions to handmade perfumes. For colognes designed to be applied to freshly shaved skin, a maximum dilution of 2.02% is appropriate. This applies to both Eau de Toilettes and fine fragrances. For products to be used on unshaven skin, you can use more, literally up to a maximum dilution of 23.88%.

If you use Iced Vanilla Woods fragrance oil in deodorant or antiperspirant products, the maximum dilution is 0.59%. This applies to roll-on or body spray products.

Body care

According to IFRA regulations, the maximum safe dilution for Iced Vanilla Woods fragrance oil is 6.11% when used in body creams, foot care products, insect repellents, or talcum powder. Use a more conservative approach for facial products and stay below the maximum dilution of 2.76%.

For specialized hand creams or fragranced hand sanitizers, the maximum dilution would be 3.75%.

IFRA guidelines for maximum dilution

The maximum dilution for this fragrance oil depends on the products you plan to make.

It's important to note that the maximum dilutions are solely for safety reasons, based on the oil's chemical composition. Sometimes these are quite high because all the components are relatively benign. These amounts aren't necessarily recommendations for how much to use in your recipe. They can make the product smell too strong or prohibitively expensive to produce. As long as you stay below the recommended limits, you can be as generous or thrifty as you like. Use more, use less. We'll leave the creative stuff to you.

The following maximum dilutions apply based on the ingredients used, according to the International Fragrance Regulatory Authority.

Safety precaution

Iced Vanilla Woods fragrance oil is not approved under IFRA safety guidelines for lip or mouth related products under categories 1 and 6.

We recommend testing a small amount before scaling up to larger formulations, as with all Vinevida products. These fragrance oils are for external use only and should not be ingested under any circumstances.

While Iced Vanilla Woods fragrance oil won't have therapeutic properties because it's a synthetic product, it's a wonderful way to scent your home. Have fun experimenting and making your home an increasingly beautiful expression of yourself each day.
